Crayon Rolls
Today I made an attempt at a couple crayon rolls, without a pattern. I thought it looked simple enough, and it is! They turned out super cute. I think the girly one is too nice for crayons and should probably become a make-up brush holder instead.

Sewing a bib...easy?
![]() |
| Cat Bib |
This should have been really simple. A bib. How hard can that be? Well, I started this one then left it sitting half finished for a few weeks. Basically I was very intimidated by the binding. I haven't made or sewn binding other than in the Kimono-Top, and that was very easy. It was straight. This was curving around a bib, and as much as I LOVE Amy Butler's patterns, the directions are awful. They are very hard to follow and way too long. Well, this morning my three year old was at Pre-School so I decided to tackle it. It turned out pretty good. I still need to figure out how to make it look nicer on the curves, but it's a cute reversible bib with a pocket! (You might notice I like cats).

First Project Complete!
![]() |
| Kimono-Style Outfit |
I have finally finished my first project. There was a bit of struggle along the way....mainly because of a three year old who wanted to learn to sew too. But the project is complete; a kimono-style outfit for my nephew who is going to be turning one. I made it from an Amy Butler pattern from her book, Little Stitches for Little Ones. I absolutely love her fabrics, design, and patterns. The fabric I choose is from India. My husband bought it there for me almost five years ago! I have been saving it for the perfect project and I think it turned out great. Hopefully it will fit little Charles!

Along the way I decided to also sew some new curtains for my sons room. I found some super cute fabric designed after Eric Carle's, The Hungry Caterpillar. The curtains are very simple, but very bright and fun!

Dusting off the sewing machine
My old urge to sew has returned and I have busily been cutting out fabric all afternoon. It makes me so happy to see all the neat stacks of perfectly cut pattern pieces. I bought a wonderful book, "Little Stitches" by Amy Butler, and am looking forward to sewing all the fun projects inside. I just need to dust off the sewing machine and see how well it works.
